No. 270 - 2 September
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a super day we’ve had today! It was just great to see all the children so excited and enthusiastic – from the very start, they lived up to our school values, with a “zest for learning and a love of life”! I really enjoyed catching up with many of you too; for those of you that I missed, I do hope you had a lovely summer break and that Day 1 went well today!
Thank you so much for making sure that the children were smartly dressed for school. They had everything that they needed and were on time for the start of their lessons. It was good to see that most children had remembered to leave jewellery at home and that nails weren’t painted. Let’s keep this up next week too!
Just a quick reminder that we operate an informal one-way system on the road around school at drop off and pick up. At the infants, traffic should travel down Semaphore Road past Pewley. Cars arriving at HT should come along Pewley Way and then left into Addison Road. Generally though, parking up further away and walking a few minutes makes it all much calmer. And green ways of getting to and from school are even better! We always find that the children who have walked before school start the day with a great attitude and it’s so much safer to keep the cars away from the main gates.
Teacher-led clubs at the juniors won’t start next week. The schedule will be published shortly ready for the week commencing Monday 12th.
Thank you again for such a positive and encouraging start to the year – have a great weekend!
