No. 228 - 23 February

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you enjoyed the half term break – the children seem very refreshed and have had a good week of learning.

How lovely to have a theme of thankfulness this week in school! I hope that you’ve been thanked for being a wonderful parent! We’ve been encouraging the children to notice all the little things that bring us happiness – kind words, yummy food, family and friends, and to remember to say thank you for them. It’s been lovely to be thanked so effusively by so many!

We’re also very grateful for the new cabins – they’ve made life so much easier in school and the Pewley children are really benefiting from such large classrooms. Having assembly in the Chapel again has been a real plus! If only the rain stopped, we’d be able to enjoy making use of the outdoors too.

At Pewley, we’ve been glad to see the team at the Diocese showing building consultants around so that they can respond to the design brief and provide a timeline for us to fix the RAAC. Small steps forward are just so encouraging! I’ll let you know the details once I have them.

It’s been a busy week of sports’ fixtures at the juniors, with more to come next week. We’re always on the look-out for opportunities for the children, and are very appreciative to our parent helpers who support us with making these events possible. Similarly, as we start to prepare for the junior school music festival on March 20th, we’re grateful for offers of help getting to and from rehearsals. Thank you for continuing to be a vital part of our “learning to live” ethos where all the children get to experience such a wide variety of different activities!

With much love,

Promise of the week: “I will heal your wounds and make you well!” Jeremiah 30, v 17. Jesus is face to face with the ten lepers – are you a polite person?
