JTLYK 7 February
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had an illuminating week full of science discoveries. We learned about the phases of the moon and investigated why the moon appears to change shape over a month. We have loved hearing about the different observations children and parents have been enjoying when they look up at the sky at night. We have also been exploring the properties of light, shadow and reflection. We have enjoyed getting hands on with torches and finding answers through our observations.
The children have impressed us with their retrieval and understanding, in maths, with how to find fractions of an amount. In English, we have continued to study the biography genre, learning about the scientists, Marie Curie and Stephen Hawking.
Another highlight this week was in RE, where we had a lovely visit from Nidhi, who spoke to us about her favourite stories and rituals from the Hindu religion.

Scale of the Universe Link
Some of the children asked for the link to the Scale of the Universe website we used this week. On it, you can use a sliding scale to see the comparative sizes of the biggest and smallest objects within our visible universe. Enjoy!
