JTLYK 10 January
Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy New Year! We hope you all had a wonderful break and enjoyed the celebrations with family and friends. The children have returned with big smiles and great enthusiasm for the term ahead.
This week, we introduced them to our Ancient Greece topic, which will run throughout this half term. We began by looking at modern-day Greece, locating it on a map, and discussing some of the major influences the Ancient Greeks have had on modern society. In English, we have started learning about Greek myths and read the story of Orpheus and Eurydice.
Most routines will continue as normal this term. The only major changes are that 3G will begin swimming lessons on Mondays, and 3N’s spelling lesson has moved from Monday to Tuesday.
Another date for your diary is Friday, 21st March, when we will hold a volcano workshop in school. Please try to avoid scheduling any out-of-school appointments on this day, if possible.
Best wishes, The Year 3 Team
