Dear Parents and Carers,

What a wonderful way to end the term!

From our joyful final assemblies to the Year 6 barbecue and disco, and from the Great Exhibition, choir and orchestra performances to our busy Celebration Afternoon, these past few days have been a true reflection of our flourishing school community and a fantastic academic year.

As we look back on the year, I am reminded of our vision to Learn to Live. Throughout the school, we have seen children living out this vision in so many ways; approaching challenges with resilience, showing kindness and compassion to one another, developing a zest for learning, and embracing the future with hope. Whether in classrooms, on sports fields, on residential visits, through music and the arts, or in quiet moments of friendship and service, our children have continually demonstrated the values that make HTPD such a special place.

We are incredibly proud of every single child, and we want to give special recognition to our leavers—particularly our Year 6 pupils, who are now ready to begin an exciting new chapter at secondary school, as well as those leaving from other year groups. It has been a privilege to watch them grow and flourish. We send them on their way with our warmest wishes and prayers, confident that they will continue to carry the values of HTPD with them as they embrace the future with hope and confidence. Please stay in touch—we would love to hear about the adventures that lie ahead.

Today, we also said a heartfelt goodbye and thank you to Sheena, Carolyn, Kendra, Linda, Holly, Frances, Bella and Teresa. Each has made a significant contribution to our school community, and we are deeply grateful for their dedication, care and service. We know you will join us in wishing them every happiness and success in the future. We also wish Laura and Catherine all the very best as they begin their maternity leave and look forward to welcoming their new arrivals in the months ahead.

On behalf of the entire staff team, I would like to thank you for your kind words, generous gifts and thoughtful cards. Most of all, thank you for your partnership and support throughout the year. HTPD is strongest when school, home and church work together, and we are blessed to be part of such a caring, supportive and engaged community. Through your encouragement, generosity and commitment, we see our vision of Learn to Live lived out every day.

As I write this final newsletter of the academic year, I want to say a personal thank you. It is a genuine privilege to serve as Headteacher of this wonderful school. In a year that has brought many opportunities, achievements and challenges, I have been continually inspired by our children, families and staff. Together, we have celebrated success, supported one another through difficulties, and paused to see heaven in the moment.

We are already looking forward to all that September will bring: new opportunities, new friendships, new learning and new adventures. Until then, I wish you and your families a restful, joyful and peaceful summer holiday filled with opportunities to spend time together and make lasting memories.

With my warmest wishes,

Vicky
