News & Events

7 November 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you had a restful half term and were able to enjoy some of the stunning autumn colours.

It’s been a fantastic first week back at school. I’ve had the pleasure of taking groups of prospective parents on tours of both the Infant and Junior sites, and I was truly delighted by the exciting and varied learning taking place. Our creative approach to teaching and learning was on full display – a real zest for learning and a love of life in action!

Learning has extended beyond the classroom too. Yesterday, Year 5 enjoyed a memorable visit to the Tower of London. The weather held out and they had an enjoyable day climbing up and down the many spiral staircases. They are now thoroughly looking forward to exploring more in their Trouble with Power topic. They also had an opportunity to pause and reflect on the beautiful poppy installation that has returned to the Tower.

Today, Year 2 were wonderful role models for our new Reception children during a joint trip to the Wild Place. Year 2 guided the younger children on how to walk safely to the site, took part in a scavenger hunt, and rounded off the visit with a delicious firework biscuit.

Although it’s only the beginning of November, the sounds of Christmas are already echoing through the school! In case you missed it, an updated list of key dates was sent via ParentMail yesterday. It’s a busy time of year, and we hope the document helps you stay informed and organised. We’re excited to welcome you to the many festive events ahead.

A Polite Reminder About Parking

I’m sorry to sound like a broken record, but we’ve received several more complaints from residents of Cline Road regarding blocked driveways, concerns about emergency vehicle access, and, most worryingly, incidents of unacceptable and abusive behaviour when parents have been asked to move their cars.

While we understand that school pick-up is a busy time, the aggressive interactions that have occurred this term are deeply concerning. Cline Road is not a suitable place to park, and the volume of cars attempting to enter, turn, and exit the road poses a serious risk to child safety and causes distress to our neighbours.

Please remember that a staff member is always on duty on the drive on Addison Road. If you’re unable to park, you can continue down Addison Road and loop back onto Pewley Way while your child waits safely by the drive. If you’re unsure of this route, please refer to the map on our website, which offers guidance on how we can all help make the journey to and from school safer and more considerate for everyone https://www.htpd.surrey.sch.uk/page/?title=Getting+to+School+Safely&pid=478

Have a wonderful weekend. Thank you for your continued support.

Best wishes,

Vicky
