Dear Parents and Carers

I am so pleased this stretch of great weather has held out to enable another varied and fantastic Fluffy Friday. So many of the children enjoyed time outside today, with many activities going offsite and enjoying our beautiful local environment. It’s given the children the opportunity to spend time with other children outside their own class and year group. They’ve also enjoyed getting to know other staff and not just working with their classteachers. These are two really important aspects of why Fluffy Friday’s are so special.

This week, the Year 3 children had an amazing time on their class trips to Henley Fort, where they stepped back in time and fully immersed themselves in their learning about World War II. Dressed as Air Raid Wardens and Home Guard officers, they explored a range of authentic bomb shelters and got a real sense of life on the Home Front.

On Thursday, a small group of art enthusiasts visited the Watts Gallery in Compton and participated in a workshop with the artist, Yuval Zomer. Using a mixture of drawing and collage, the children created some fantastic artwork.

The second half of the summer term is always extremely busy. For ease, I have pulled together a dates list for you - keep an eye out for a separate ParentMail with this attached. It’s a jam-packed few weeks ahead, so it’ll be important to relax a little over the break. Whatever your plans this week, I hope you have a restful week.

Best wishes

Vicky

Thought of the Week: Don’t give up! Who helps keep you going?

Whole School

Vacancy - we are looking for a new Clubs+/PUPs manager. Tilly has done an excellent job looking after our extended school provision and we'll miss her when she moves on to pastures new. This role may suit someone who would really like to work with children and wants to make a difference to our wider school community, supporting families and continuing the tradition of making our after-school care the best it can be. If you know someone outside of our school network who may relish this role, please contact Danielle DanielleB@htpd.surrey.sch.uk to explore further. She would love to hear from you!

Summer Fun Run

There are only two weeks to go until our Fun Run, and we really need your help to make sure this event can go ahead!

Please sign up to volunteer for the day if you can. We particularly need race marshals.

We also need some other support. Please email us at HTSC@htpd.surrey.sch.uk if you are:

  • An electrician who can PAC test the sound equipment.
  • First aid trained and could give us your mobile number to be on call for any issues on the day.
  • Have a gazebo, camping table or chair we could borrow.

Book your ticket – they’re selling fast!

Don’t forget to get your tickets for the races here. Booking in advance really helps us to plan for numbers.

Thanks for your support,

HTSC & FOPS
