Dear parents and carers,

We hope you all had a lovely week enjoying the sunshine!

In Maths this week, we continued our unit on fractions. We have understood how to find and recognise 1/3 and the children have really worked hard. We have also worked on finding the whole and we are able to join in and play a game involving finding these fractions.

In English, we have begun a unit on writing letters. We had a visit from some Australian headteachers and asked them questions about the schools they lead. We have planned to write to some of the schools and send letters to them to find out more about life in Australia and compare it to Guildford. We are very excited to receive their responses.

In PE, we continued our football skills unit and practised passing, dribbling and shooting. The children had a lot of fun trying to get their ball into the goal. We also had another fantastic swimming session and some children went into the deeper pool for the first time.

In RE, we looked at how Muslims get ready to pray. The children had a go at roleplaying Wudu and describing why Muslims get ready in this way.

In Computing, the children programmed the Beebots and made predictions on where they would get to. They had lots of fun working together to input the programs. Their trickiest challenge was remembering to press X before starting the next set of instructions; some became very long!

Our Geography lesson this week was our exciting trip to Guildford. The sun was shining and the children worked very hard finding out about all that Guildford has to offer. They enjoyed lunch in the castle grounds and explored the downs and the town centre. Thank you to everyone who helped us to make this day such a success.
