Y6 JTLYK 2 May
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have been thoroughly impressed by the children’s attitude and effort regarding our revision focused lessons and SATS practice papers this week.
Let’s keep punctuality a priority. Next week, we will be starting each day at 8.40 sharp with workshops and other important revision sessions. During SATs week itself, it will be essential to the children’s confidence and frame of mind that they arrive at school on time.
Have a lovely sunny weekend!
Danni, Jo, Kathryn, Julia, Tom and Mark.
History
We continued with our topic by creating a character for our Edwardian/Victorian journal. We looked at paintings and consulted other information to build a character from 1750. We chose an authentic name, described our little home and the village we live in, found out about the kinds of things we would do each day, and even learned to write in a Copperplate style!

Spellings
Please make sure your child practises their spellings throughout the week.
amateur, bruise, competition, definite, equipped, explanation, familiar, government, signature, stomach..
We will test these spellings on Monday 5th May.
Homework
Homework will now look a little different.
We are no longer giving out Maths Facts Homework. Instead, the children will be given some alternative maths practice in preparation for SATs.
Please ensure your child is staying on track with their homework tasks. If they encounter any challenges, encourage them to speak with their class teacher for support..
