Dear Parents and Carers,

What a great start to the children’s last term at HT! They have come back full of energy and enthusiasm for what looks set to be an action-packed few months of learning and discovery.

Besides revising SPaG and reviewing maths papers together, we have launched into our new history topic ‘A Time for Change’.

History

We began our history topic by exploring the historical timeline, which helped to establish the context for our topic. We then focused on the Georgian and Victorian Eras, identifying the key figures in power at the time.

SATs Week

Please make sure you keep the weekend before SATs as calm and restful as possible in order for the children to be best prepared for their test starting on the Monday.

Spellings

Please make sure your child practises their spellings throughout the week.

jealous, strategy, marriage, suggest, digestion, adjacent, knowledgeable, foreknowledge, badger, gorge.

We will test these spellings on Monday 28th April.

Homework

Homework will now look a little different.

We are no longer giving out Maths Facts Homework. Instead, the children will be given some alternative maths practice in preparation for SATs.

Please ensure your child is staying on track with their homework tasks. If they encounter any challenges, encourage them to speak with their class teacher for support.
