Y2 JTLYK 25 April
Dear parents and carers,
The children have come back brilliantly after Easter and it has been lovely to hear what they have been up to!
In maths this week, we continued looking at measuring. We consolidated our learning about millilitres and litres by tackling some word problems using our four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We then looked at temperature and the vertical scales.
In English, we have begun the term by looking at our new Geography based topic called Home and Away as we will be exploring Guildford and its habitats across the next couple of weeks. The children have already learnt lots of new facts about squirrels, foxes and hedgehogs.
We have also had the opportunity to explore our school site more and understand what it looks like on maps. We look forward to exploring the Wild Place next week.
Request for parent helpers:
As part of our Geography topic, we will be looking at habitats and so will be visiting the Wild Place on Wednesday 30 April in the morning. We will be aiming to leave at 9:15 and arrive back at school by 12 (so no packed lunches needed). If you are available to help, please let Danielle or Toby know via email.
We are looking forward to this half term and seeing more great learning!
