YR JTLYK 25 April
Dear Parents,
We have had a wonderful few days back at school. It was lovely to see all our friends again and talk about what we got up to in the holidays. On Wednesday Mrs Katmeh spoke to us about Eid. We enjoyed hearing about how she celebrates. We made decorations and delicious fudge.
On Monday we have our class photos. We’re having our photo taken first thing so that the photo is taken when the children look their smartest! Please make sure they have school jumpers or cardigans.
This term we have not put up a Wild Place sign-up sheet as we will be visiting the Holy Trinity Adventure Trail instead.
Phonics
We have learnt 4 new tricky words this week. They are said, so, have and like. Please practise these at home. You could make the words in sand or shaving foam using a paintbrush or your finger. You could hide the words around the house or outside and go on a tricky word hunt. Please continue to practise all the phonemes.
Dates for your diary
- Monday 28 April – Class photographs
- Monday 5 May – Bank holiday Monday
- Monday 12 May – Chicks arrive
- Friday 16 May – Stay and Play
- Friday 23 May – Fluffy Friday & end of term
Stay and Play
On Friday 16 May it’s ‘Stay and Play’. Parents are invited to come and play in Reception with their child from 2pm. If you can’t make it yourself feel free to invite grandparents/other relatives instead. We look forward to seeing you.
Baby Photos
This term we are learning all about Growing. This weekend, we’d love you to have a look for a baby photo of your child that they can bring into school or email Beccy/Hayley so we can print them out. Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be thinking about how we’ve grown and changed as we’ve got older.
Things we need …
Next week we are going to be setting up a planting station outside. If you have any spare peat-free compost or seedlings we would be very grateful to receive them. Thank you so much!
Best wishes,
The Reception team.
