Y6 JTLYK 4 April
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a very busy final week of term. Year 6 were very thoughtful during our visit to St. Martha’s Church on Tuesday. We had a lovely time ‘seeing heaven in the moment’.
In our history lessons, we have learnt about the fall of the Abbasid Caliphate, which marked the end of the Islamic Golden Age. The children had to consider the most significant legacy referring to all their previous learning to support their reasoning.
After the break, it will be all hands on deck in the lead up to SATs week in May.

Maths
We’ve discovered the meaning of ‘mean’ this week, as we learned how to find the average (or the mean) of a group of numbers.
It’s really easy: you add them up and divide the total by how many there are!
We have also been having fun with a variety of past SATs questions involving data handling. We had to work out what information the various graphs and charts represented and then accurately answer the questions.
Homework
Over the Easter Holidays, the children will receive three revision booklets – two for maths and one for spelling, punctuation and grammar. Please make sure they spend 10-15 minutes on these a day – we believe little and often is best when it comes to revision.
Homework will continue as normal after the Easter Holidays.
