15 May 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a brilliant—if busy—week it has been!

Year 5 have been away on their residential trip to Brenscombe Farm in Dorset, and by all accounts they have had a truly fantastic experience. The children have explored the unique geography of the Jurassic Coast, while also embracing a range of adventurous activities including high ropes, canoeing and a visit to Corfe Castle. Residential trips like this are such a valuable part of our curriculum, helping to build independence, resilience and friendships that last. We look forward to welcoming them back later this afternoon, no doubt full of stories and happy memories.

Meanwhile, in school, our Year 6 pupils have impressed us all with their calm, maturity and determination during SATs week. Each morning, they have approached their English and mathematics papers with focus and resilience, showing just how well prepared they are. We are incredibly proud of their attitude and effort—these qualities matter far beyond the tests themselves. Their well-earned celebration at Shalford Park is something they can all look forward to enjoying together.

Across the school, it continues to be a joy to see so many examples of “a zest for learning and a love of life” brought to life each day. This is made possible through the creativity and dedication of our staff, as well as the wide range of enrichment opportunities we offer—from trips and workshops to clubs, house events and, of course, our much-loved FLUFFYS. These experiences are central to our belief that education should extend far beyond the classroom, helping every child to flourish both academically and personally.

Looking ahead, next Friday will be our final FLUFFY session of the year, which is always a highlight for the children and a wonderful way to celebrate their interests and talents.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy the final week before the half-term break.

Best wishes,

Vicky

Thought of the week: Don’t give up.  Are you a persistent person? Who needs your encouragement?

Lost Property

If you have lost anything recently, please do have a little look at the lost property collection at the lower entrance to the school.

Isabelle Lebon has lost her raincoat; it is blue with a fluffy lining and named.  If you see it, could you please drop it off at the office?
