Y1 JTLYK 2 May

Dear parents and carers,

We hope you had a great Easter break and enjoyed some rest and fun over the bank holiday weekend. It is great to be back at school for the start of summer term in such gorgeous weather! We have loved seeing all the children again and hearing all about their time away from school.

We have begun our new topic, Growing, and have spent time planting many different seeds so we can watch them grow over this half term. We have planted peas, beans, poppys, rocket, beetroot, carrots, flowers, and cress! We have been learning the names of all the different parts of the plants and looked at examples of these.

If you would like to donate any soil, bedding plants or shrubs, potatoes, or seeds for us to plant we would be very grateful!

We have done lots of maths over the last week and a half, we have been learning to count ins 2s, 10s and 5s, looking at equal and unequal groups, and making arrays. Please practice counting in 2s, 10s and 5s at home, particularly 5s as that is the one they are all newest too.
