Eco Schools
Eco at Our School
At our school, we are passionate about caring for the environment and making our community more sustainable. Each class has two Eco Team members who meet regularly throughout the year to share ideas and lead initiatives that help us look after our school environment and reduce our impact on the planet.
We are currently working towards a range of sustainability goals across six key areas:
-
Waste – Reducing single-use items, improving recycling and introducing composting
-
Energy – Cutting down on electricity use and encouraging responsible habits
-
Nature & Biodiversity – Enhancing our green spaces and helping students connect with nature
-
Water – Reducing water waste and raising awareness about global water issues
-
Sustainable Travel – Promoting walking, cycling and low-carbon ways of getting to school
-
Education & Engagement – Embedding sustainability into our curriculum and school culture
We’re also increasing opportunities for outdoor learning, encouraging children to thrive outside and make the most of our beautiful school grounds. By learning in nature and caring for it, our pupils develop a deeper understanding of the world around them and their role in protecting it.
As a school, we are always looking for new ways to become more environmentally responsible and are committed to building on our progress with meaningful, long-term goals that support both our pupils and the planet.
